A fun day to raise awareness of the emergency services at Barnardo’s Sure Start Children’s Centre in Calne attracted more than 150 families last Thursday.
The event at the centre in Prince Charles Drive was supported by firefighters, police, volunteers from St John Ambulance, and community first responders.
Children enjoyed squirting water from a fire engine hose, meeting trained police dogs, sitting in the St John’s ambulance and trying out their medical skills at a teddy bear’s hospital.
Barnardo’s team manager Georgina Knappe said: “It was really successful and we got a lot of positive feedback from parents.
“Part of it was to raise awareness of what the children’s centre does and to get some feedback from parents on what they think the centre should offer them.”
