Parients who have been saved by Wiltshire Air Ambulance are to talk about their experiences in a series of moving films.

The patient stories will be released each day on Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s website during National Air Ambulance Week - September 22 to 28 - at www.wiltshireairambulance.co.uk

It is the first time Wiltshire Air Ambulance has arranged video interviews with patients and the filming was undertaken by videographer Nick Ruddle, of Swindon, free of charge.

Air Ambulance week aims to raise awareness and funds for air ambulance charities and the theme of the week for Wiltshire is ‘heroes’.

Schools, businesses and individuals across the county are holding events during the week to raise vital funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The charity will take delivery of a new helicopter in December 2014 when its current partnership with Wiltshire Police comes to an end.

It will cost £2.5 million a year to keep the air ambulance flying, that’s £6,850 per day – the same amount the charity is hoping to raise each day during Air Ambulance Week.

Ana Exton, Wiltshire Air Ambulance communications and digital media co-ordinator, said: “Our patients are our true heroes. That is why we are releasing a video a day of their very special and individual story.

"They have been on an incredible journey and are really keen to help the charity in raising awareness about the fantastic work of the air ambulance.”

Links to the patient stories will be posted on Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.

Anyone who has been airlifted and would like to telling their story, or has creative skills they can donate to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, can call Ana Exton on 01380 739453.
