AN 80-year-old man has been taken to hospital after an accident involving a car and a double-decker bus in Calne this afternoon.
South West Ambulance services were called to the incident on the A3102 Oxford Road outside Build base just before 2.20pm.
Fire crews from Calne and Chippenham attended the incident to cut the elderly man free from the car.
The man was taken to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, to be checked over while a young man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended but the man was taken by road ambulance to the hospital.
The road was temporarily closed by police between Beversbrook and Stanier Road with motorists advised to take alternative routes. It has now been reopened.
A relief bus was sent to pick up the passengers who were on the double decker bus.
