Cameron snatches narrow debate win
Following the debate between David Cameron and Ed Miliband a poll claims the Prime Minister came out on top.
ICM poll for The Guardian found that 54 per cent of viewers thought that the Conservative leader performed better than his Labour counterpart.
During the Battle for Number 10 programme, screened on Channel 4 and Sky News, both were quizzed by journalist Jeremy Paxman and took questions from the audience.
Killer co-pilot had depression
The investigation into the doomed Germanwings flight will focus on the co-pilot who deliberately crashed the plane amid reports he had been suffering with depression.
It is believed, Andreas Lubitz, 28, had deliberately put the plane into a descent after the captain left the cockpit, French prosecutors said after analysing evidence from the recovered cockpit voice recorder.
Police officer arrested over wife’s murder
A officer serving with Northamptonshire Police has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife at their home.
Police were called to an address in Wootton Hall Park, Northampton, soon after 1pm yesterday and arrested a 49-year-old off-duty officer.
Jolie tipped to direct 50 Shades sequels
Angelina Jolie is among the names being tipped to replace Sam Taylor-Johnson as director on the next Fifty Shades Of Grey movie.
The British director, who has spoken of her arguments with author EL James about bringing the raunchy novels to the big screen, has announced she will not be making the next two movies.
Rooney’s son copies celebration
And finally, England captain Wayne Rooney has said his son Kai has been copying his boxing celebration.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s clash with Lithuania Rooney said the youngster has been aping him to schoolmates.
Rooney found himself the subject of a number of unwanted headlines last month after a video was published which apparently showed him being knocked out in a playful fight with former Manchester United team-mate Phil Bardsley.
The striker poked fun at the story when he scored against Tottenham Hotspur.
