THE M4 is closed eastbound between Junctions 12 and 11 in Berkshire because of an overturned cement mixer.

The Highways Agency said earlier that the motorway would reopen at 4pm but because of damage to the road surface it is expected that it will be shut until 6am tomorrow (April 29).

Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes while those stuck on the motorway should remain with their vehicles.

Earlier after a lane was closed with very slow traffic eastbound between Junction 15 (Swindon East) and Junction 14  (Hungerford) because of a broken-down vehicle.

No serious problems are reported elsewhere on Wiltshire's roads after another cold but bright start to the day with rain forecast tonight.

A trespassing incident on the railway line between Reading West and Theale this morning caused delays to some services while mainline services are running to schedule.
