FANS of indie rock band The Vaccines will have the opportunity to see them perform at an intimate gig in Marlborough tomorrow (Saturday).

The platinum-selling group will be doing a meet and greet at music store Sound Knowledge in Hughenden Yard to promote their new album - English Graffiti.

Doors open at 6.30pm ready for the group’s arrival at 7pm and a huge crowd is expected to turn up to catch a glimpse of the NME Award winning band.

The event was only announced yesterday after record label Sony contacted the music store to ask if the band could perform.

“We are expecting hundreds to turn up,” said owner of Sound Knowledge, Roger Mortimer.

“They are going to play a short acoustic set before signing albums in store.

“We have been given very short notice from Sony about this and we were only contacted on Thursday, so we are not expecting as many numbers to turn up as normal, but the reaction has been fantastic.

“We are very much looking forward to it.”

The band will perform from 7pm at Azuza next to Sound Knowledge and the signing will take place afterwards.

Those who buy the album, which costs £8.99 for the standard version and £13.99 for the limited edition one, from the music shop will get priority in meeting the musicians.

The four-piece, which formed in 2010, will also be performing at this years’ Glastonbury Festival next month and have toured with acts such as The Rolling Stones, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Muse among others.

Frontman Justin Young, bassist Arni Arnason, drummer Pete Robertson and guitarist Freddie Cowan, are also three times BRIT Award nominees.

After their performance in Marlborough they will be heading to Bristol to perform at Rise Bristol for 9pm.
