The major upset in Thursday's elections for Corsham Town Council was in Corsham ward where long standing councillor Brian Healy lost out.
He was one of ten candidates contesting seven seats.
Elsewhere the town council has its first British National party councillor. Michael Simpkins was the only candidate who stood for the Rudloe seat and was elected unopposed.
Nineteen out of the 20 seats have been filled. The one vacancy, in the Neston ward, is set to be filled by co-opting someone at the annual town council meeting on Monday.
David Martin, the town council clerk, said Mr Martin said the turnout by the electorate was above average.
He said in many wards the turn out was about 40 per cent while the highest was 55 per cent in Gastard.
Meanwhile, Coun Peter Davis, a town councillor for 25 years, has resigned from the Liberal Democrats to join the Conservatives in protest at the scrapping of the free hour of car parking in Corsham.
Coun Davis, who is also a county councillor, did not seek re-election for the district council.
