THE tale of Alice in Wonderland was brought to life in Great Bedwyn by dance theatre company Panta Rei when they performed Behind the Mirror.
Inspired by the novel, the high energy dance adventure captured the charm and originality of Lewis Carroll’s story.
St Mary’s Church was transformed by the Norway based company on Friday (Nov 27) into an intimate and atmospheric performance space, with pews pushed aside and youngster sat just inches from the action.
Fast paced choreography, designed to engage, gave the dancers plenty of opportunity to enthral the capacity audience.
Panta Rei had earlier in the afternoon, participated in a very successful school’s workshop with children of Great Bedwyn Primary School, during which the dancers commented on ‘the fantastic engagement of the community’.
The performance was brought to the village by community members via Rural Arts funding.
