PARENTS and schools in the Corsham area have been put on high alert after reports a man tried to grab a female year seven student on Wednesday morning (Feb 3).

The pupil was approached shortly before 8.30am as she made her way to Corsham School.

She claims the man followed her to the premises and then attempted to grab hold of her arm. The pupil was unharmed in the incident, which happened close to the bike shed entrance of the school.

The man is described as white, approximately 30 years old, 5’7, thin, with scruffy dark hair. He wore a mustard coloured zipped hoodie and spoke with a local accent.

Now police have contacted all schools in the area as they investigate the incident.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We have contacted all schools in the Corsham area following a suspicious incident at 0825 hours outside the Corsham School.

“A year seven female student was approached by a male, who attempted to grasp her arm after following her to school. The incident occurred between the Astro turf pitch and the school entrance next to the bike shed.

“Anyone with information please call 101 and quote *010292.”
