JUST in case females at Dauntsey's School had any plans to muscle in on its all-boy street dance crew it has called itself Girls Not Invited.

The lads gave their debut performance at the school's sell out dance show but there were plenty of girls strutting their stuff in other acts. More than 200 pupils took part in the show which they rehearsed for during lessons and clubs.

Head of dance Kirsty Glynn said the show presented a variety of dance styles, showcasing the talents and versatility of the pupils. The audience enjoyed contemporary, musical theatre, tap and street dance.

She said this year’s show worked around the theme of stories and dances took inspiration from classics such as Romeo and Juliet and Oliver Twist while others looked to more modern books such as Gangsta Granny and The Maze Runner.

Ms Glynn said: "Each year I am amazed by the inventiveness and creativity of the pupils and their commitment to preparing for the Show. The evening was packed full of thrilling performances, full of energy and excitement. The audience loved every minute of it."

Many of the performers from the show will compete in a variety of dance and cheerleading competitions in 2016.

Senior dancers are working on a dance show based on the story of Moulin Rouge which they will perform in April and the highlight of the year is expected to be the staging of Billy Elliot in December.
