DRIVERS are being warned to take extra care when using the A361 between Seend and Devizes, after a number of vehicles suffered serious damage after hitting items left in the road this week.

A community message was posted online on Wednesday warning commuters that a number of objects had been left in black bags in the middle of the busy road, causing significant damage to vehicles travelling along the route.

It is understood the black bags contain solid items which cause damage to vehicles which run over them.

Wiltshire Police are investigating and are asking anyone who sees any suspicious vehicles in the area to keep note of the vehicle’s registration number, which should be reported to the police as soon as possible by calling 101.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.
