ORGANISERS of a jazz afternoon hope it will go with a swing when music is combined with bubbly and strawberries in a village near Devizes.

Yvonne Brunton a community fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice is staging the event at Five Lanes Farm, Potterne, on June 26 from 4pm to 6.30pm.

She said: "The ticket price of £15 not only includes easy listening jazz - with songs from a range of vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Liane Carrol – but also a bowl of delicious strawberries and cream plus glass of bubbly.

"It takes place in a marquee so even if it rains it won’t dampen the day. It’s a lovely rural setting and what better way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday?"

Mrs Brunton, who has been working for the hospice for eight years, used to be professional singer in her former home in Devon. So she will be fronting the Lawley Wade Quintet under her stage name Yvonne Lawley.

For tickets available by ringing 01380 725523 or from Devizes Books.
