PUPILS from Year 13 at Hardenhuish School dressed in their finest to mark the end of their seven years of education with their leavers' prom.

Starting the evening with a coach to Wellington Barn in Calestone, the 125 pupils put their best foot forward on Thursday (June 30) night to enjoy their penultimate gathering before graduating in September.

Jackie Todd, pastoral manager for the school’s sixth form, said: “It was brilliant, we had the large group of students as well as members of staff and they all had a great time. The weather managed to hold up while they all enjoyed Pimms and beers before going in for their meal. The food was exceptional and Wellington Barn was decorated so beautifully.”

As well as dancing the night away with an organised disco, the pupils also held their own awards as well as a raffle. All of the prizes were bought from all of the hard work the pupils had done in fundraising throughout the year.

“We had the bottom draw which saw the students win things like toasters, cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment, everything a uni student would need. All of the boys looked really smart, a lot of them wearing black tie, and all of the girls looked so stunning. Everyone looked really classy for the whole evening,” added Mrs Todd.

After getting on the coach back, organised by Hardenhuish so as not to promote drink-driving, the Year 13s headed to SN15 in Chippenham for their after party.

“Wellington Barn and SN15 both said that they were all so well behaved, there were no issues at all. Everyone had such a good time and were very respectful. This was the last time all of them got the chance to party together before their formal graduation happens in September, before they all go off for pastures new. It was the perfect way to end their time at Hardenhuish,” Mrs Todd said.
