MEMBERS of a Chippenham karate club put their skills to the test during a championship competition held in the town.
Almost 20 members of Chippenham Wado Ryu Karate Club competed in the Shikukai Karate Championships, held at The Olympiad Leisure Centre.
Competitors participated in front of senior judges and the head of Shikukai, Sensei Sugasawa 7th Dan Renshi.
The club has more than 30 members on its books, meets twice a week and is open to anyone above the age of five.
“Just come along and join in, you can’t just sit on the side and experience what it’s going to be like and sometimes it puts people off,” said instructor Carol Chatterton.
“Join in and give it a go and see if it’s something you’re going to like.”
