FOUR school children from Calne scooped some delicious prizes after they drew flying pigs for a locally run bakery competition.

The Flying Pig Cake Emporium in Church Street asked children to draw their mascot Priscilla the flying pig to celebrate the end of their first year in business.

The first prize winner, Isabelle Blackman, aged 10, won an iced sponge cake and a £10 voucher from Aladdin's Cave art shop, while second and joint third prize winners Hannah Guttridge, Neve Jackson and Flo Godwin each won a box of hand-decorated cupcakes and a £5 voucher.

Annie Drew from The Flying Pig Cake Emporium said: "The winners' drawings were all excellent and we hope they all enjoy their prizes. Special thanks to Aladdin’s Cave for donating gift vouchers."

The owners of the Flying Pig Cake Emporium were so impressed with the drawings created by children at Cherhill Pre-school, that the owners decided to reward the children with cupcakes.

Cathie Sanders from The Flying Pig Cake Emporium said: "We recently ran a children's competition for children aged 5-10 but the children at Cherhill Pre-school were too young to enter so they decided they'd draw some pictures of Priscilla the flying pig, who often appears on our cakes and biscuits.

"We were so impressed with their efforts we decided to reward them with some of our cupcakes. The children really enjoyed the cakes and it was a pleasure to see so many happy smiling faces."
