A man who is accused of assaulting two drinkers in a pub on Christmas Day is to face trial by judge and jury.

Garry Naldi is said to have hit the men with an empty Malibu bottle at the Jenny Wren, in Calne, on December 25 last year.

The 34-year-old, of Queen's Square, Chippenham, pleaded not guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Tuesday, November 22, when he is due to stand trial, and released him on conditional bail until then.
