A TEAM of ladies from a Chippenham charity got down and dirty as they took part in a mud run to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Eight women from Dimensions took part in the Bath Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5km earlier this month at Bath Racecourse and raised more than £600.

Dimensions is a charity which supports adults with learning disabilities and autism and is based at Bumpers Farm in Chippenham, as well as other locations throughout the country.

“It was the first time we had done it as a group and it was our support advisor Trina Ford who roped us all into it, said Becca Newton, regional assistant at Dimensions in the south west.

“It was good fun, we were all different abilities but we managed to all meet up at the end where they had a slide so we all managed to come down and cross the finish together.

“It was brilliant but everyone one was quite apprehensive as they had not done anything like this before.

“It’s quite different to just running a 5km because of the obstacles and it was more tiring than I imagined.

“All of us were pushing ourselves to try and run it and we had good support.”
