A teenage boy has been arrested and charged after a stolen motorcycle was ridden around Corsham by three suspects wearing balaclavas on and no helmets.

The trio were spotted at around 4pm on Friday, August 18, while the police were in Colerne dealing with a separate incident.

The following morning they went looking for the bike and thanks to intelligence from the community, found it in a garage on Manor Road.

A month on and a 16-year-old from Corsham was arrested on Monday morning for handling stolen goods, as well as five driving offences under the Road Traffic Act.

These included riding a motorcycle with no licence, no insurance and careless driving.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “He has since been released under investigation for handling stolen goods so the team can carry out further enquiries before sending it to the Crown Prosecution Service for charging advice.

“However, he was charged with all five driving offences.

“He now awaits his day in court.

“Thankfully the bike had sustained a minimal amount of damage and it was reunited with its owner.”
