Police are appealing for witnesses after a major fire was started at a bin storage building in Calne.
The arson attack took place at 4.26pm on Friday, November 24 at the back of Kingfisher Court in Calne.
“Thankfully the fire did not spread to nearby vehicles or residential properties,” said PCSO Mark Cook.
“However. the damage caused to the building has been valued in excess of £5,000.
“Wiltshire Fire officers attended the location at the time this was reported and extinguished the fire. Fire officers advised us they believed persons have deliberately set this fire which has then engulfed this small structure,” he added.
At 5pm that same evening, Wiltshire Police received a report of white paint being thrown into a communal entrance at Kingfisher Court, causing extensive damage.
It is believed that this criminal damage may be linked.
“Two youths in dark clothing were seen running away from the location at the time this happened,” said PCSO Cook.
House-to-house patrols have been completed in the area and officers have failed to identify the culprit, so they are now appealing for help.
