Bath College is currently the largest provider of apprenticeships in Bath & North East Somerset with more than 600 apprentices in training with over 400 businesses.
The college in Avon Street, Bath, and its Somer Valley campus in Wells Road, Radstock, have a successful history of working with several hundred employers over many years, building relationships, growing businesses, and training many thousand apprentices.
David Watson, who joined the college as Head of Apprenticeships six months ago, said: “Bath College has a long history of running apprenticeship courses to a high standard.
“We have great relationships with more than 400 large employers in the South West. Businesses we work with range from one-man operations and micro businesses / SMEs, to international companies like Siemens and Dyson.
“Over the last year, the college’s apprenticeship team has increased its provision, working with over 60 companies to offer apprenticeship programmes in nine new business areas.”
Bath College offers apprenticeship programmes across 18 employment sectors and has three times been awarded Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for Bristol & Bath.
The college is staging its annual Apprenticeship & Careers Fair at the Apex Hotel in Bath on Thursday, March 14, from 10am to 2pm.
It will offer apprenticeship opportunities across a wide range of sectors, including construction, engineering, service industries, and professional.
They include administration, management, accountancy, hairdressing, catering and hospitality, to construction trades and engineering, to veterinary nursing care, and much more.
The Apprenticeship & Careers Fair will also include information on the Government’s new T-level qualifications for 16-19 year-olds.
Mr Watson added: “We annually train more than new 300 apprentices and are an established provider, having delivered apprenticeships for many years.
“We have excellent relationships with employers and dedicated sector staff with industry experience, trained as assessors.
“We offer a high-quality training environment with excellent resources to support classroom learning and sector-specific workshops to develop practical and job-related skills.”
The college also offers specialist support and welfare programmes to students, including initial advice and guidance and learning support, to help them further their career.
“Our experience, knowledge and partnerships with employers are what set us apart, as well as our dedicated staff who manage learners’ progress and their learning journey,” Mr Watson added.
