The former site of a clock shop in Pewsey could become a food premises if new plans go ahead - and some residents are pleased.
Time Restored, an antique clock dealership, closed its doors in 2023 after 45 years on the High Street. The announcement came after owner Henry Bowler-Reed decided to move the business into his Upavon home.
The premises has since been left empty, and new plans now suggest that a restaurant or café could take the clock shop's place.
A planning application, submitted to Wiltshire Council has requested for the site’s use to be changed from ‘retail’ to ‘restaurant/café’.

Polly Maclean, the previous owner of Lawn Farmshop in Pewsey, is behind the application as she hopes to transform the site into a new business venture.
Having previously run the popular farm shop for many years, Polly became a popular figure in the community but left the farm shop in 2023 before it was later closed in February 2024.
Limited information about the new food premises has been released by Polly so far as it is still early days, but the idea is already being met with enthusiasm from residents who have left comments about the application on the council's website.

“It could be a huge boost for the community,” posted Oliver Hussick.
“When I moved down here from the city almost five years ago, I really missed dining out and having relaxed places to socialise. The more restaurants and cafes, the better, I say. I can't wait to find out what sort of establishment opens up here," he added.
Judi Little posted: "Good food premises are much needed for the evenings in Pewsey village.
"We only have Waterfront Bar & Bistro and The Crown, both of which are fabulous."
The current plans suggest the food premises would open from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday and employ two full-time members of staff as well as three part-time.
The application was officially registered on the Wiltshire Council website on Wednesday, May 1 and Pewsey Parish Council and neighbours have all been consulted.
Now residents have until Wednesday, May 29 to have their say on the plans by commenting on the application.
Once the public consultation has ended, a decision will be reached by Wednesday, June 26.
