In their first league win over Chippenham, Trowbridge made sure it was a convincing one.
In what was a scrappy game throughout, not helped by very windy conditions, Ollie Dew opened Trowbridge’s score sheet from the edge of the box, catching the Chippenham keeper off his line.
Chippenham looked like equalising immediately and it took some sharp work from the Trowbridge defence to keep them at bay.
Another chance was soon created by Chippenham, this time only being denied by the wind.
The equaliser came early in the 2nd half when a Chippenham corner dipped just under the bar until some excellent play between Trowbridge’s Dew and Kyle Webb set Webb up to put Trowbridge ahead again.
Chippenham pressured and only the save of the season from Trowbridge keeper Toby Murden kept Trowbridge ahead.
The scrappy play continued until almost the final whistle when a keeping error from the Chippenham keeper was swiftly punished by Sam Brake.
Keeper Toby Murden was Man of the Match for Trowbridge.
