EMERALDS’ Jaden King may have been to Hull and back but it was a trip that was laden with gold.
The 14-year-old headed north with Emeralds head coach Liam Lathbury to take part in The Hull Box Cup, which saw competitiors come from all over the United Kingdom.
Having got through to the final, King faced Kane Wilson of Southampton’s Golden Ring ABC.
In only his fourth bout, King won every round against the more experienced Wilson to take a unanimous points decision and win the gold medal in the 44kg category.
Head coach Lathbury said: “Jaden boxed superbly, he did exactly what he was told throughout the fight.
“I couldn’t fault him in any way, it’s a fantastic win for Emeralds and the perfect end to a great season.”
