WESTBURY United made a return to winning ways on Friday night after defeating local rivals Frome Town 1-0 in Southern League Division One South.

A second-half goal from Jacob Hutchings, following a scramble in the box, turned out to be the decisive moment as the White Horse Men secured victory over their east-Somerset neighbours.

The same could not be said for fellow Division One South side Melksham Town, who were beaten 1-0 away to league strugglers Willand Rovers. The only goal of the game arrived in the 50th minute, when Rovers forward Jack Rice slotted into the bottom right corner of the net.

Melksham were due to play Hamworthy United on Wednesday night.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Corsham Town continued their fine form with a dominant 3-0 win away at Mangotsfield United on Saturday.

Goals from Neikell Plummer, Matt Swan and Robert Hobbs secured an impressive three points for the Quarrymen, who now look ahead to their FA Vase semi-final tie against Ascot United this Saturday.

Relegation-threatened Bradford Town remain bottom of the league following their 1-0 loss to Roman Glass St George over the weekend, after Lewis Leigh Gilchrist’s second-half goal separated the sides.

On Saturday, Royal Wootton Bassett Town were defeated 3-1 away to league leaders Cribbs.

Despite Town player Scott Chilcott cancelling out David Duru’s early opener for the hosts, Cribbs were able to regain their lead in the first half through goals from Aysa Corrick and Sonny Harnett-Balkwill to confirm the victory.

Sam Collier's men were able to bounce back with a 3-1 win away to Tuffley Rovers on Tuesday evening, though.

A brace from Louis Spalding - topped off with a goal from Matt Bennett - gave the Wiltshire side victory as they continue their best ever season.
