Swindon Town drew 0-0 for the second time this season as they earned a draw away from home against automatic promotion-chasing Stockport County.

The home team dictated most of the play and had several strong chances that required big saves from Jack Bycroft, but Swindon had chances of their own, most notably Zac Elbouzedi.

So, how did the players fare as individuals at Edgeley Park?

GK: Jack Bycroft – 9

Last week Bycroft was partially at fault for the calamitous opening goal against MK Dons but he bounced back in style here. He made several big saves and big takes in the moments when he was needed. Stockport tried to target him from set pieces, but he was not to be phased.

RB: Harrison Minturn – 7

A first appearance under Gavin Gunning for Minturn and he did very well deputising for Udoka Godwin-Malife on the right. Other than one miscommunication with Conor McCarthy in the first half that created a chance, he was a big part of one of Swindon’s more defensively rigid performances.

CB: Conor McCarthy – 6

McCarthy kept Paddy Madden quiet for the most part in this one and he was strong in the air against a side known for their crossing. There were a few slightly strange wayward passes, but overall he did well.

CB: Frazer Blake-Tracy – 6

As the designated legs of the defence, Blake-Tracy did well tracking Tanto Oloafe and reducing his impact to a minimum. He has some very strange lapses in concentration in times, but none of them proved costly.

LB: Williams Kokolo – 6

This was probably the most dangerous Kokolo has looked going forwards for Swindon. Stockport didn’t seem to have a plan for him and he should have had one assist with a cross and then it was his shot that created Elbouzedi’s chance.

CM: George McEachran – 5

Against some of the other big midfields in the league, he has been bullied, but McEachran held his own against Stockport. He was always an option on the ball and kept things simple.

CM: Dawson Devoy – 4

He was largely anonymous in possession, when before he has driven forward and made things happen, there was nothing of the sort in this match, he just never got involved.

RW: Zac Elbouzedi – 4

He had the big chance to really put the cat amongst the pidgeons and missed it. Other than that, in a game he should have been a valuable outlet on the counter attack in, he made no real impact.

CAM: Paul Glatzel – 5

He had good endeavour and kept making his runs but with the ball rarely sticking in forward areas, he just never made much of an impression.

LW: Jake Cain – 5

The midfield did well at being a functional midfield defensively in this match. Stockport had a slightly weird line-up, but Swindon were disciplined in midfield and made them work. He probably gets unlucky with the chance that he got.

ST: Charlie Austin – 4

Austin also never really got into this game. He dropped in a bit but rarely won the headers and failed to link the play with any kind of regularity to create openings for the other forwards.

Subs:

Ricky Aguiar – 5

A rather peculiar position for Aguiar, but needs must, I suppose. He did very little with the ball, but he was in the right place at all times and that was what Swindon were looking for.

Aaron Drinan – 5

He held the ball up well when he came on and became a physical handful for the Stockport defenders. When his chance came, he made the most of it.

Tom Brewitt – 5

He made no real mistakes when he came on, so you have to say that that is mission accomplished for a defensive change.

Harry McKirdy – 4

He made no real impact after his introduction.
